Description
Design and features of the ZB Zeugen feeder
For sows (pregnant sows), it is important that the feed and the feeding system are compatible with one another. The VERBA ZB sow feeder offers a simple and effective solution for ad libitum feeding of 10 to 12 sows in shared accommodation. This sow feeder provides sows with fresh, easily accessible feed in optimally measured portions. Furthermore, it requires only a relatively small investment, making it a cost-effective choice for sow farmers.
Calm eating behaviour and precise control
The sophisticated VERBA metering valve enables sows to feed calmly. This means they are better controlled than with a traditional dry feed feeder for sows. For larger groups of sows, it is possible to use several ZB feeders for sows. This sow feeder features highly precise adjustment, which prevents sows from overeating and encourages them to feed calmly. This adjustment is also well suited to daily rationing.
Hygiene and maintenance
The raised feeder allows sows to access their feed easily and prevents food residues from accumulating in it. This keeps the feeder clean and hygienic. Made from stainless steel DRN 4 drinking trough This is the ideal solution for group housing of sows with ad libitum feeding. We recommend installing the sow drinkers (preferably a DRN 4 model) at least 1 metre away from the ZB sow feeder. A greater distance is not a problem.
Optional water connection and various models
As an option, we can also install a water pipe with dummy to be fitted, which converts the ZB sow feeder into a slurry feeder. The ZB feeder models are particularly suitable for pelletised and crumb-form feed. For finer feeds, such as flour, the ZBC feeder models are ideal. For rearing piglets, a lower-level feeder is available, incorporated into two lower-level feeder models.
Durability and strength
The additional stainless steel omega profiles on the sides give the VERBA ZB sow feeder great strength. It comes as standard with a folded stainless steel bracket at the front, which allows it to be securely fixed to the floor. The sow feeder must also be securely fixed to the rear wall, which contributes to its overall stability and durability.
