WELL-NEST Pigeon and Pigeon Cap

Maintaining an optimal temperature in the piglets' nests during the maternity period is crucial. This minimises the hypothermia of the piglets and the risk of loss of piglets. This phenomenon often contributes to the mortality of newborn piglets in the first days of life. The PT0 piglets are specially designed to address this problem and to provide an excellent microclimate.

These functional PT0 piglets are easy to install and adapt to the specific needs of different stalls. They not only provide protection against cold temperatures, but also help to stimulate the growth and vitality of piglets in the crucial first phase of life.

The PT1 Comfort piglets cover offers a smart solution to optimize the microclimate in your maternity ward. With this durable piglets cap you can create a warm piglets' nest for your newborn piglets. In addition, keep the room temperature for your sows at the desired level. This not only results in lower energy costs, but also promotes the feed intake of the sow.

The PT1 Comfort piglets cover is available in different versions and can be adapted to almost any size and configuration. You have the choice between UV-resistant transparent plastic or black HDPE plastic. The piglets' hoods are equipped with an edge at the front of 100 mm high. As a result, the warm air circulates effectively in the piglets' nest and is not lost.

This versatile piglets cap can hang freely above the heating plate, over the intermediate wall of two lofts, in the corner or along the longitudinal position. Optionally, the PT1 Comfort piglets cover can be equipped with an opening of 230 mm for a heating lamp, including a cover plate for this opening.

In our range of piglets hoods we also offer a transparent piglets cover variant that is extremely easy to fold. This allows you to temporarily close your piglets for inspection or other checks. Thanks to the transparent plate, the sow keeps an eye on its piglets at all times, which reassures it. The piglets themselves also remain calmer because they can see their mother and do not feel that they are closed.

This lockable piglets cap is equipped with a simple hinge that clamps over the partition wall, making it a standard piglets cap. If you want to fasten the piglets, simply lift the hinged lever and move the piglets cap forward. This serves as a transparent partition wall. It takes virtually no force to move the piglets cap. In addition, the closure is designed so that the strong stainless steel closure automatically moves over the partition wall when you fold the piglets cap back, saving extra work.

The piglets undercrawl is made of 2-sided UV-resistant transparent plate. On both sides the piglets cover is equipped with a stainless steel protective strip with the unique and very strong PT0 bead edge. The standard pig cover has a depth of 500 mm and is suitable for a rear wall of 500 mm high and 35 mm thick. If your back wall has different specifications, we can customize them. The width of the piglets can also be produced to your liking, which is ideal for renovations. The side walls can be provided by yourself or can be supplied by us, using 18 mm thick HDPE plates with stainless steel corner lines for both the back wall and the floor.

PT0 acted as a producer during the Pro-Dromi project from Wageningen University, a collaboration with a network of 14 sow farmers. One of the results of this project is the WELL-NEST piglets' cabin.

The piglets' cabin is equipped with a plastic rear wall and a piglets' entrance, which can be closed with a supplied slider. The fully transparent front wall is made of 6 mm thick Polycarbonate, lightweight and easy to remove. The lid remains open automatically when it is opened.
