Aeres Farms (formerly Aeres Praktijkcentrum) Dronten is the premier training and learning environment run by, for and with students from Aeres’ educational institutions. Aeres Farms trains students to become professionals in the agri-food sector. For the pig farming programme, Aeres, in collaboration with Nooyen Pig Flooring and Nijenkamp Office Furniture from Lemelerveld: 3 new MultiFarrow Balance farrowing pens fitted with balance flooring. MultiFarrow is the free-range farrowing pen from Nijenkamp Stalinrichtingen, which has also been installed at Brummelhuis in Hoge Hexel, amongst other places. Verba was commissioned by Aeres to supply three transparent piglet covers and a KZB maternity pen feeding trough for the supply of sows with piglets.
The PT1 piglet covers consist of a sturdy stainless steel frame around the perimeter, a 6mm transparent and UV-resistant sheet and 3 strong Verba PE hinges. The pens measure 1000 wide by 1300 long with one sloping side and provide plenty of space for the piglets
The KZB farrowing pen feed trough is a special version designed to allow sows and piglets to feed together. As the pens are lower in height, the KZB feed trough for the farrowing pen has been adapted to a height of 82 cm. After all, bespoke solutions are no problem as we have our own factory in the Netherlands and can therefore be flexible.
